What Is Technology Cooling System (TCS)?_
The TCS is the secondary loop in a liquid-cooled data center, carrying conditioned coolant directly to GPU cold plates and heat exchangers. It is chemically treated to prevent corrosion and biological growth, and operates at a temperature and pressure set by the CDU. This loop is distinct from the facility water loop, ensuring that server hardware is never exposed to untreated or variable-quality water.
Technical Details
The TCS typically uses a dielectric or inhibited glycol-water mixture, circulated by pumps within or alongside the CDU. Coolant flows through supply and return manifolds to cold plates mounted on GPUs, CPUs, and other high-heat components, with flow rates and temperatures monitored at each rack. The CDU maintains isolation via a heat exchanger, transferring heat from the TCS to the facility loop without mixing the fluids. Pressure and temperature sensors in the TCS trigger alarms if parameters deviate from OEM specifications.
How Leviathan Systems Works with Technology Cooling System (TCS)
During rack assembly, we connect TCS hoses from the rack manifold to each GPU cold plate, using quick-disconnect fittings and verifying no leaks. In commissioning, we flush and fill the TCS with treated coolant, then pressure-test the loop before powering servers.
