What Is Vapor Barrier?_
In liquid-cooled GPU facilities the barrier maintains a humidity gradient between the cooled rack volume and warmer external air. It reduces the likelihood of moisture reaching cold surfaces such as manifolds or cold plates. Effective performance depends on complete coverage and sealed penetrations rather than on any single material property.
Technical Details
Barriers are installed on the building envelope and around cooled zones before rack placement. Joints, pipe entries, and cable openings must be taped or gasketed to preserve continuity. The material is chosen for compatibility with the temperature range of the facility HVAC and the liquid-cooling loop. Regular visual inspection during commissioning confirms that no gaps have been introduced by later mechanical or cabling work.
How Leviathan Systems Works with Vapor Barrier
Field crews confirm vapor-barrier continuity around row perimeters when manifolds and distribution piping are set during liquid-cooling installation on H100–GB200 racks. Any breach found at that stage is corrected before leak or pressure tests begin.
