What Is Overhead Busway?_
It consists of continuous or sectional busbars hung from the ceiling structure with plug-in or bolted tap-off points. Power is taken from these points via whips or direct connections to rack-level distribution units. The layout keeps all power cabling out of the underfloor plenum used for cooling.
Technical Details
Busbar sections join end-to-end with mechanical splices that preserve electrical continuity and grounding. Tap-off boxes contain overcurrent protection and accept standard cord sets or hard-wired terminations to PDUs. The system is coordinated with overhead cable trays and liquid-cooling manifolds so that power and cooling paths remain separate.
How Leviathan Systems Works with Overhead Busway
Field crews mount and energize overhead busway before racks are rolled into position so that large-scale GPU clusters can be powered during commissioning without under-rack cable congestion.
