What Is Cable Cartridge?_
Cable cartridges consolidate runs of copper or fiber links so they can be pre-routed and inserted as a single assembly during rack integration. They separate intra-rack GPU-to-GPU copper fabrics from the fiber-based scale-out networks that exit the rack. The design keeps bend radii consistent and allows individual cartridges to be removed or replaced without disturbing adjacent bundles.
Technical Details
Cartridges accept push-pull connectors such as QSFP, OSFP, or MPO; no torque screws are used. They are positioned along the rack spine to align with GPU NVLink copper connections inside the rack while fiber links for InfiniBand or Ethernet are routed separately to the top or rear. Cartridges are installed after rack uprights are set but before final commissioning tests verify link integrity.
How Leviathan Systems Works with Cable Cartridge
Field crews install and dress cable cartridges during rack assembly of H100 or GB200 NVL72 systems to maintain separation between copper NVLink spines and outgoing fiber networks.
