What Is Grounding Electrode System?_
It provides the reference point for the entire grounding network and carries fault current or lightning discharge to earth. The system must maintain continuity and low resistance under all operating conditions. All metallic components of the power distribution infrastructure are bonded to this system.
Technical Details
Common electrodes include ground rods, concrete-encased electrodes, and building structural steel when they meet code criteria. Conductors are sized according to the relevant electrical code and are exothermically welded or mechanically clamped at joints. The system is separate from but bonded to the equipment grounding conductors that run with power feeders.
How Leviathan Systems Works with Grounding Electrode System
During rack installation the field crew verifies that each cabinet frame and PDU chassis is bonded to the building grounding electrode system before energizing H100 racks. Liquid-cooling manifolds and busway housings are also checked for proper bonding during commissioning.
