What Is Ground Fault Detection?_

It compares current on phase and neutral conductors using differential sensing to reveal leakage paths. When an imbalance exceeds the device threshold the system generates an alarm or opens the circuit. In data-center racks this protects both equipment and personnel during installation and operation of high-density GPU power feeds.

Technical Details

Detection is performed by current transformers or residual-current modules installed in PDUs or upstream panels. The method works on both single-phase and three-phase feeds serving rack-level distribution. Integration with breakers allows automatic isolation while separate monitoring channels record events for commissioning logs.

How Leviathan Systems Works with Ground Fault Detection

Field crews confirm ground-fault detection operation on all rack power circuits before energizing high-density GPU assemblies and liquid-cooling loops.
