What Is Coolant Corrosion Inhibitor?_
Coolant corrosion inhibitors are blended into water- or glycol-based fluids used in closed-loop cooling systems. They act through surface passivation or pH buffering to reduce oxidation and material loss on aluminum, copper, and stainless-steel components. Periodic testing confirms concentration remains within the range specified by the coolant supplier.
Technical Details
The inhibitor is part of a specific fluid formulation and material-compatibility basis. Mixing, dilution or treatment decisions require the applicable fluid supplier and equipment requirements; a generic chemical category does not establish compatibility or a dosing rule. Any monitoring and maintenance are separately assigned specialist work.
