What Is Manifold Flow Balancing?_
Liquid cooling manifolds distribute supply and return fluid to GPUs or servers mounted in the same rack. Without balancing, branches closer to the inlet receive higher flow while distant branches receive less, producing uneven temperatures. Technicians adjust valves or install calibrated restrictors until measured branch flows fall within the range stated in the OEM documentation.
Technical Details
Balancing is checked with inline flow meters or pressure taps at each takeoff during initial fill and circulation. Readings are compared against the design total flow divided by the number of active branches. Once set, valves are locked or orifices are left in place for the life of the installation.
How Leviathan Systems Works with Manifold Flow Balancing
Leviathan crews perform manifold flow balancing as part of liquid-cooling commissioning on NVL72-class racks after all quick-connect hoses are mated and before system power-up.
