What Is H200 GPU?_

The H200 GPU is a data-center-grade accelerator that builds on the Hopper architecture, offering enhanced memory specifications over its predecessor. It is primarily used in large-scale AI training and inference, as well as scientific computing, and is typically deployed in clusters with NVLink and InfiniBand networking. The H200 maintains compatibility with existing H100 systems while providing higher memory throughput for memory-bound workloads.

Technical Details

The H200 GPU features HBM3e memory, which provides higher capacity and bandwidth compared to the H100's HBM3, though exact figures depend on the OEM configuration. It uses the same SXM form factor and NVLink 4.0 interconnect as the H100. NVLink is a copper-based spine for direct GPU-to-GPU communication within a node or rack; beyond that, scale-out networking (e.g., InfiniBand) uses fiber MPO connections. The H200 supports the same PCIe Gen5 interface and is designed for liquid-cooled or air-cooled deployments per system vendor specifications.

How Leviathan Systems Works with H200 GPU

In Leviathan Systems field work, the H200 appears in rack builds where we install it into SXM-based server trays, often as a drop-in replacement for H100s in existing NVLink domains. We handle its cabling and cooling connections, noting that its power and thermal requirements are similar to H100 but may require firmware updates in the management controller.
