What Is GPU Baseboard Tray?_

The tray provides a rigid mounting plane for the GPUs and routes high-bandwidth copper links between them. It also incorporates fluid quick-disconnects or cold-plate interfaces when liquid cooling is used. The entire unit slides into the chassis on rails so that a complete set of GPUs can be installed or replaced as one module.

Technical Details

NVLink connections between GPUs on the same tray use copper traces or cables that remain inside the rack envelope. Power is delivered through board-to-board connectors or bus bars that mate when the tray is fully seated. Cooling passages or cold-plate ports on the tray align with manifold connections at the rear of the chassis. The tray is retained by simple latches or captive screws; push-pull optical or electrical connectors require no torque.

How Leviathan Systems Works with GPU Baseboard Tray

Field crews slide GPU baseboard trays into the rack frame during initial rack population, then mate the power, NVLink, and cooling interfaces before proceeding to scale-out cabling.
