What Is Fiber Jumper?_

Fiber jumpers carry optical signals between devices in scale-out networks such as InfiniBand or Ethernet fabrics. They remain separate from the copper NVLink connections that stay inside the rack for GPU-to-GPU traffic. Installers select jumper length and connector type to match the port layout on switches and adapters.

Technical Details

Common connector styles include LC duplex and MPO multi-fiber housings that mate by push-pull action without torque screws. The cable contains one or more optical fibers protected by aramid yarn and an outer jacket rated for data-center use. Jumpers are factory-terminated and tested for insertion loss before delivery; field crews verify polarity and cleanliness during installation.

How Leviathan Systems Works with Fiber Jumper

Field crews route fiber jumpers from GPU nodes to top-of-rack or end-of-row switches during structured-cabling phases of large-scale deployments, keeping them distinct from the internal copper NVLink spine.
