What Is Fabric Cabling Map?_

It records how fiber or copper links connect switches, NICs, and endpoints to realize the intended fabric topology. The map separates intra-rack copper domains from inter-rack fiber runs that carry scale-out traffic. It serves as the reference for installation, labeling, and later troubleshooting.

Technical Details

Each entry lists source and destination ports, cable type, length, and connector style such as QSFP or MPO. The map is updated whenever trunks are added or rerouted during rack expansions. Technicians use it to verify polarity and continuity before running link-training commands. Separate maps are maintained for the NVLink copper spine inside a rack and the fiber fabric that spans multiple racks.

How Leviathan Systems Works with Fabric Cabling Map

Field crews receive the map before structured-cabling work on rack-scale deployments so they can dress MPO trunks between racks without mixing NVLink and fabric paths. During commissioning the same document is used to confirm every fabric link before the cluster is handed over.
